Book Design

As part of the creative team at St. Martin’s Press, my role was to take a finished book cover, designed by one of our seasoned creative directors or senior designers, and complete the book mechanical.
This included laying out the type on the back
cover and spine, editing, or sometimes creating,
the back-cover art to match the front that the designer created, and laying out type on the inside flaps for hardcover books. These selected book covers and jackets feature type I laid out on the back, spine, and inside flaps of books during my 2018 summer internship.
